Altec Lansing : Great product! Jun 25, 2010 I have been searching for an alarm clock with iPod charging/playing capability, decent sound, and small size for a decent price and I finally found it.
First, let's talk about the sound quality. It is overall very good, fills a small room with sound. Only sounds fuzzy if you turn it up all the way, which isn't unusual. The included docks for iPods work prefectly, once you figure out how to snap them in. The FM radio / iPod sound quality is very good also, and both are fairly easy to control using the remote. I have also found the remote battery to last longer than i expected, although it is kind of small, making it possible to get lost in your sheets.
Next, the ease of use. I thought it was very simple to figure out once i skimmed the instructions, but maybe that's just cause i'm a techy guy. Most of the buttons are pretty straightforward, but you may have to look up how to control the iPod / FM radio using the remote. The lights with colorchanging capabilities on the back is really cool, and i really love how you can adjust the brightness of the screen itself, so it doesn't bother me at all at night.
Finally, the build. Like i said, it is very meaty for its size (it packs lots of stuff into a small package). The screen itself isn't too big, and it doesn't get in the way of anything. I like how the iPod dock is at the bottom of the product, compared to most of the other products i considered with the iPod dock on top (i just think those look ugly!). By the way, if your iPod tells you that "it is not compatible with this device," just unplug it, change the source, plug it back in, and switch back to iPod. it should work. My iTouch spontaneously does this, but i don't pay any attention to it. The buttons on top of the device are touch, and they have LCD backlighting, so it's easy to navigate in the dark.
This concludes my review for the Altec Lansing Moondance Glow Speaker System. I hope it convinced some of you windowshoppers to purchase, because i really think it is a great alarm clock / radio / iPod dock-charger, the best i've seen, anyway.

Good Sound Quality - Couldn't Get 2nd Gen. Ipod Nano to work with it May 18, 2010 I received this recently as a gift. The sound quality is good. One big problem is that my 2nd Gen. Ipod Nano would not work with this unit even though it is advertised to work with it. While the options for the alarm are numerous, the process is a bit involved to set up a morning alarm. Will probably hook an airport express up to it and play my music through the aux. input. This will also allow me the ability to control the device with an ipod touch. The supplied remote works, but seems to somewhat limit the ability to move from album to album. My review is initial so some of this may be inaccurate information about the device.
MP-3 player Apr 26, 2010 I gave it to my son-in-law for his birthday. He says it works great and has a good sound.
Great Product for the money Mar 13, 2010 I purchased this to compliment my ipod touch. It performs very well, doesn't take up a lot of space and it does what I had hoped it would.
My only draw back is the remote control. It is extremely small, can be misplaced very easily or lost. The controls are very sensitive which makes it a bit tricky to use. Other than the remote I can't think of anything that would stop you from purchasing this great unit.

Creative design covers inadequate sound quality Mar 08, 2010 This is an interesting looking iPod clock radio that disappoints big-time once you get past its looks.
The touch sensitivie controls are a pain to use.
The available volume settings in clock radio mode are limited to only 3 possible settings - none of which are right for us.
And most important - the audio quality of this unit is pathetic. There is a constant scratching sound which reminds me of a dirty volume control which is always there - and dominates at low volumes.
Who needs that noise in your ear during quiet music passages or when your musical selection has ended.
I returned mine for a full refund.
Save your money - buy a better unit from a different manufacturer.
