Get 2 for stereo Apr 05, 2010 The sound quality is absolutely the best but the closeness of the two speakers doesn't give you much stereo separation. So what I did to give my little home theater some good sound was bought 2 IM7's. One for the Left TV channel and one for the right. I made 2 little adapters that would take, say the TV's Left channel and route it into both the L and R side inputs of the IM7 on the Left side of the TV, and a similar thing for the IM7 on the right side of the TV. Talk about a wonderful sound experience with loud music or movies, it's unbelievable. Now both speakers on the left side IM7 pour out the TV's Left information, and both speakers on the right side IM7 pour out the TV's Right information. The effect is dramatic and impressive. It's so good I don't need a subwoofer. Altec Lansing, bring the IM7 back, they'll sell.
Excellent sound Feb 08, 2010 Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 Portable Audio System for iPod : Ready for international travel. Plugs into european outlets w/out any problems (adapters included). It's LOUD and clean. Can u say BASE. U will be satisfied. I was.
Two Bought, Two Broke Feb 07, 2010 I purchased two of these units, and both completely failed (no power on). Altec Lansing customer support is non-existent. $500 down the drain. Please consider a more reliable item, and one with customer service.
All that and a bag of chips Dec 28, 2009 I've owned my IM7 for almost two years and could not be happier. Excellent sound quality and range; simple to use; no technical problems whatsoever. I use mine primarily in our finished basement (about 900 square feet of living space) and it completely fills the room with sound. I'm looking to buy another. Wish I could find one for the $125 I paid then (that was quite a bargain).
Not for latest iPods Dec 05, 2009 This particular dog will no longer send video to your TV from the latest generation iPod Classics. Even when you connect everything, and set the iPod, it still asks for the connector. You are stuck.
Avoid this like the plague.
