1Sucks  Jul 12, 2010
This product came with a dead battery for the remote as well as the speakers they did not hold a charge for more then 5 mins

4Logitech Portable Speakers  May 21, 2010
We initially bought these to use with a Zune because it has an auxiliary input. It ended up not being very loud, so we borrowed a friend's ipod & they worked a lot better.
When used with an ipod they are really good. This is a well thought out product; the carrying case is small and light, it has a built in battery, the remote controls the basic functions of the ipod and the plug has a cord keeper.
I know most people in the world already have an ipod, but in order to get the full functionality out of this you really need one.
4 stars because it does not work well with non-ipods.

1The Buttons Break  Apr 20, 2010
This was a great portable audio system for my ipod until the buttons broke off. The buttons on the top of the unit have plastic hinges that eventually break off leaving the system useless.

5Great portable speakers/charging station for iphone! (3G)  Mar 10, 2010
I bought this so I could listen to my audio books at work and not run the battery down on my iPhone. I liked it so much that within the first week I was packing it up and carrying it back and forth so I could use it at home too! The zipper hard-shell case turned out to be really useful.

At night it lives next to my bed as an alarm clock with the iPhone charging in it.

It also works great as a cooking timer and speaker phone while in the kitchen, and of course I love to listen to music or books while cooking. The remote is really useful in the kitchen, I just put it in plastic wrap and I can answer the phone or access all the player options even when my hands are wrist deep in messy food or soapy water.

I've been using this for over a year and still really love it. I haven't used it on battery power to the point of testing the actual life of a charge, it claims ten hours battery power, but I have mostly used it plugged in. I have used it for upwards of five hours on battery with no problem. I've used it on picnics and on long drives in cars with no ipod connection. It would be perfect for camping or a day at the beach.

The only thing it wasn't great for was as external speakers for my laptop. For some reason it didn't recognize the laptop input as being active so it went into standby mode and I would have to wake it up manually every ten minutes (or whatever the internal sleep mode is set to).

I am not sure what the current price is on this, I paid about a hundred bucks and felt it was well worth it. I imagine you can get it cheaper now. I know at the time, the white version was available at Costco for about fifty bucks, but I tried it and it didn't charge the iPhone, only the iPods, so there is something different (or was).

In a nutshell: I highly recommend this device!

If it didn't seem like a waste of money I would have three of these!

1. One at work for music, audio books, to charge my iPhone, and for the speakerphone function.

2. One in my bedroom as a charging station and alarm clock.

3. One in the kitchen for use as a cooking timer, music or audio book player, speakerphone and phone charger.

Double check that the one you are buying will work with your device.

I hope this review was helpful. I am just rambling now, so I'll end this.
