Beautiful unit Jun 16, 2010
The great thing about the product is the quality of contruction, it's heavy, and that enables very tight, strong bass without vibration; a lighter, cheaper unit would suffer buzzing given given the same volume level. Also the quality of the audio is fantastic. I wouldn't say it's room filling as this is just a table unit, but when you listen at computer speaker distance, it sounds like full size system. A very strong value.

Do not purchase this product! I bought a Logitech Pure-Fi Elite two years ago, just before moving onto a sailboat to live. The Pure-Fi Elite went into storage after only being used three or four times. When we returned to land and got the unit out of storage, we could not locate the power supply.

Logitech stopped supporting this unit several months ago. You cannot buy parts for it. They do not have any power supply units available, at any price. Because the unit has been discontinued, and they do not have any replacement parts for sale, I asked for a pin diagram so that I could cobble together a power supply for it, but Logitech REFUSES to supply either a schematic or a pin diagram, claiming "proprietary information" for something they no longer make nor support.

This is horrible customer service! I now own an expensive door stop that cannot be used for its intended purpose. Stay away from this iPod device, and stay away from Logitech.Logitech Pure-Fi Elite High-Performance Stereo System for iPod (Black)

very nice sound for such a small unit Mar 10, 2010
I just bought these speakers, not for the intended purpose because I was looking for something to plug my line 6 guitar interface into and would be small enough and would pack up easily. I must say, these speakers have a very nice tone. I am able to run a drum program out of my computer and the line 6 device into the aux input and it sounds really good. It is way easier than taking a whole amp with me. I thought origionally it may be to big but after receiving it I found it to be the perfect size. I bought mine for 99.00 or so and feel I did very well. Now I just need to buy myself a more modern mp3 player that will fit into this unit. This unit gives a really rich full sound, and seems well built.

Everything written about this product in the PC Magazine review that convinced me this was the best dock for me was true. The price-point is phenomenal but there are downside benefits to the price: No handle for easy carrying around; the remote does not allow you to change menu selections on your ipod/iphone. Forget about alarm clocks . . . who cares! All in all, I'd rather deal with the downside benefits in favor of the fantastic sound quality at such a low price. And it looks good too. Cheers!

Outstanding but no battery option Jan 10, 2010
Amazing sound quality. Very portable except that there are no batteries so unplugging it resets the clock and you have to be near a plug. The adapter plug isn't as snug as it could be and comes out a little too easy. Would definitely buy again. Easily the best quality for the money.
