Sound is great, construction isn't Mar 31, 2010 Sound is great which is definitely a pro.
Very comfortable fit, very easy to put in/out because of vertical stems (golden ones)
But... there are outweighing cons :
1. Wires are quite inflexible
2. There's a very weak spot where wire exits hard plastic jack casing - i just don't see how this can last long enough
3. Thin plastic piece connecting vertical golden cylinder and the earbud itself tend to brake
4. Silicone cuffs start to fall out after some time
Bottom line, earphones didn't survive 3rd month of day-to-day usage (pocket carried).

Worth the $$ Dec 18, 2009 Just received my buds and the first thing I noticed was that they came with a carrying case. Did not recall reading that they came with the buds but it was a nice surprise. The case is a hard case about the size of a coke can in circumference and about one inch thick. It has a sturdy zipper for opening and closing. The inside even has a small net pouch for storing the extra ear cushions.
The next thing I noticed was the wire for the buds. I read where several people complained about the thickness of the wire so I compared them to the ones that came with my ipod and it is just a shade smaller. I am a sound engineer for our church and I have only had a problem with one wireless mic wire, and it was even smaller than this one. Do not wrap or roll the wire up when you store it. Just kind of bunch it up when you put it in the case and you will probably never have any issues with the wire. They probably should have put protectors near the ends to help keep the wire from breaking but if you take care of them they should last for a long time.
The elbows (or whatever they are called) that connect to the left and right buds are made of plastic and feel pretty flimsy but I am assuming they use plastic to make them lighter. Not a big issue for me.
They come with three different size ear canal cushions. I had to take off the medium ones that came on them and put on the small size. Not the easiest thing to do but once I got them on and stuck them in my ears they felt 100 percent better than the buds that came with the ipod (HANDS DOWN). After wearing them for about an hour there was just a little discomfort but nothing like the pain I endured with the old buds. I forgot I had them on one time and almost yanked them out by accident.
Now for the most important quality in buds. What do they sound like? GREAT! Now you have to keep everything in perspective here. The speakers are about the size of a number button on a tv remote! But they have a good range from the bass to the highs. I doubt the bass hits as low as they claim but much better than all of the other brands I have tried out. I am still breaking them in for the recommended 8 to 10 hours and hope to gain even better sound but for the price I think you would be hard pressed to find better sounding buds on the market.
I am glad I can quit looking for a pair of buds that live up to my standards. These are the ones!!
P.S.THEY STAY IN YOUR EARS!
UPDATE
After breaking them in for the 10 hours, it did seem to make a difference in the low end. I have been using them for about five days now and I have found that the buds need to be pushed all the way in to the ear canal for the best sound. My ears got just a little sore the first couple of days but now they do not bother me at all. I wore them for an hour and thirty minutes while working out at the gym and after removing them my ears were completely fine. The music is really crisp with the perfect balance of lows and highs. THEY DID NOT FALL OUT THROUGH MY WHOLE WORKOUT! That alone makes them worth the $$.
Update I - After 4 months of heavy use no problems at all and would purchase another pair in a quick minute.
Update II - 8 months and still rocking. Average use - 1 hour 4 days a week.

Best Bang For Your Buck Dec 10, 2009 This was actually my second purchase of the Sound Squared earbuds. If you compare these to other models you will find they have the same noise reduction features as those costing significantly more. I use my earbuds during excercise, cutting the grass and other such activities and have found them to not only be all they are advertised to be but also to be tough as nails. The hardest part of using these is to identify the correct size earbud that best serves your listening requirement and ear canal size; getting used to the design may be a little awkward at first but one adapts quickly, and can see the design benefit. I highly recommend these for listening to your iPod or mp3 player and have bought 3 additional sets for my family members. Before you make a costly investment, I would highly recommend you give these earbuds an opportunity, in most cases I am certain this will be all that you require.

Great earbuds Apr 03, 2009 I purchased these to replace some Sony units. The sound quality and range was noticeably improved over the Sonys. I was even able to lower the MP3 volume setting down a couple of notches and still enjoy better listening quality than before. Purchased a second set for my wife shortly thereafter. Durability has been good so far, but it is too early to make that call at this point. Highly recommended.

Great Product. Great Service Mar 20, 2009 Overall very good ear buds. My first pair developed some crackling noise in the right speaker. Emailed the seller. They sent me a brand new pair with and envelope with return postage. New pair works very well. Excellent clarity. Good sounding base. Very pleased with the product and the service of the seller.
