5Great headphones with awesome sound & bass!  Jul 23, 2010
I bought these headphones back in 2007. I was looking for a nice pair for my mp3 player, so that I could isolate all noise when I take it to the gym. Well, these bad boys get the job done as advertised. I like to listen to all kinds of music: might be hiphop today, and trance tomorrow. And SE310 really adjusts to all of the music I play well. They also provide you a deep pass sound, much deeper than SE210. It almost sounds like you've got a subwoofer tagging along. As far as the high frequences, I was able to hear the sound that none of my other headsets provide. This is a huge part of the Trance music listening experience that I've been missing out on.
Now, the CONS are: my headphones stopped working after 2 years. The thing is: I wear them around the ear, going from the back into the ear canal. Well, one of the cords's outside rubber wrap basically teared, leaving the wire unwrapped. This caused the sound to be on and off. I agree that it was my fault as this is regular wear & tear. I was wearing them 5 times a week after all. I called up the Shure tech support, and they've agreed to send me a replacement! All I had to do was to just pay for the shipping cost to them, and provide a copy of the original receipt. So 2 years after my purchase, for only a $15 shipping cost, I've got a pair of brand new headphones back in the mail! I must give Shure 5 stars for customer support, but only 4 stars for the durability.
When my headphones were not working, I started looking online on which pair would be the potential replacement, checking all the reviews and pricing. And the funny thing is: I couldn't find a match that would give me the same performance for the same price. I knew that I would buy another pair again, disregarding the durability issues. This sound is well worth it!

5Amazing sound. I hope they last.  Jul 07, 2010
Bought a pair of these a few weeks ago, and one ear stopped working. After returning that set, I found a deal on Amazon and couldn't pass it up. Three weeks on, they're holding up fine...I hope they last.

As for the sound: WOW. I upgraded from the 110s, and the clarity is so much better. Same base vs. clarity issues you get from Shure ear buds, but I'm not a bass hound. I use them every day on the subways in NYC and swear they're saving my hearing...I had to turn the volume down.

And I love the short cord length. Combined with my Shuffle, the perfect jogging combo.

At this price, the same price of my old 110s back in the day, a great buy.

5I cannot belive 200 for some buds is justified.  Jun 27, 2010
I am a musician but not a fan of music lets start off with that, but these things have made me see the light. I never thought I would spend more than maybe 50 on a pair of buds but then I splurged and got a pair of Klipsh which were good so I wondered how it could get better. I spent a month reading reviews and buying/returning buds to best buy. I must have tried everything in the 70-150 range. I am particular about it and comfort and nothing seemed to really wow me and have a good fit so I took a chance on these and let me say these are amazing. I have had them for about six months and they are just as clear as the day I got them. I have found myself going through all my cds mp3 and any real music files I can get just to experience what these guys can do. I am not a Josh Groban fan but listen so some of his stuff though these puppies is almost life altering. I cannot brag on them enough. The negative is now that I have these I wonder what else I have missed out on from penny pinching.

5Great value  Jun 22, 2010
The headsets don't block external noise 100% on their own, but once you add music then you're completely isolated from outside. And the volume level that you need once you use this product is very low which is always good for your ears.

1A sad, lost opportunity. ( Save your money. )  Jun 20, 2010
Although the sound quality is very good, and that should be what counts, I cannot recommend this product. Everything other than the earbuds is so carelessly designed and manufactured and outdated that in combination they trump the sound quality of the earbuds. It is like a Ferrari engine inside a Soviet-era automobile. The cords and connectors and lack of in-cord controls render this a sad memorial to 1980's bad design. Just like Sony insists in attaching power supply and connector monstrosities to otherwise well-designed Vaios and Cybershots, Shure has cement-shoed these quality earbuds. And, if you want to add insult to injury, as I did: just try adding their « Shure MPA-3C Music Phone Adapter for iPhone » which for another $30 gives you a Pause / Answer Call / End Call button still with no volume or track controls and located so that you will have to be miked with a clip to try --unsuccessfully-- having a telephone conversation. It is simply unbelievable, at least perplexing, why Shure would inflict this ridiculous pain upon us. Save your money. Even if you don't need the iPhone adapter, buy another brand with integrated controls. If you have an iPhone or another mobile, do not even blink, click away from this mess immediately.
