4great earphones  May 30, 2010
My old Shure E2s were at the end of their rope (insulation off part of one ear) and I wanted more iosolation. [...] highly recommended these and I agree.

2Overpriced  May 29, 2010
I have been using Sure earphones for several years and have overall been pleased with them. I currently had the Sure E3 and wanted to upgrade so I thought I would try these. The ordering process and shipping (and return) was great. When I got the headphones, I plugged them right into my Ipod and was very disappointed. The sound quality, mostly the bass, was very weak for headphones at this price. I decided to immediately return them and upgrade to the Sure SE 510. When I got the 510's I was still a little disappointed, mostly in the lack of bass. The fit on both are good, very comfortable and do a great job in cancelling outside noise! Overall, I would love to compare these to the Klipsch headphone line. From what I have read, Sure is superior in clarity but Klipsch is superior in bass. It depends on what you are looking for...I love bass so I personally would consider Klipsch next time...they do make awesome speakers! If you want crisp clear sound, then stick with the Sure line, if you love bass like me, look at Klipsch.

4Sure are good. Shure SE310  Apr 18, 2010
This is my second pair of Shure headphones. As usual the fit and seal are excellent. The sound stage, clarity and detail are phenomenal. My only complaint is with the ported bass I was hoping for more bass without the need for equalization which is not always available with portable devices like my Droid. But after a few minutes of listening you acclimate to the sound and don't miss the lack of bass prominence, because the sound is there, just not as strongly as I would like with some rock music.

5Fabulous!  Apr 14, 2010
Agree w/ Martin P's review of 12/31/07 except would give the SE310's a five star rating and think the foam earplugs are superior to the rubber. Am in love w/ these, so sorry I didn't get them a long time ago!

43 years and still going strong  Mar 09, 2010
I paid full price for mine ($300), and they were worth every penny. I'd previously used some Sony noise cancelling headphones that were $150 (good at first, but didn't hold up to regular use, let alone abuse). For the last three years, I've been loving the Shure SE310's. The sound quality is amazing, and after three years of abuse (and use), they have never given me a problem. They are VERY sensitive, though, and on a plane ride, I was nearly deafened when the captain broke in over the entertainment AT FULL VOLUME. He was at a 10, and I'd been listening at a 1/2.

I have always used the triple flanged insert, but it gets a little uncomfortable after about 10 hours (I do a lot of international travel). I would like to get some custom molded ear pieces, and I really think it would be a great improvement.
