Wonderful earphones, until they fall apart. Sep 06, 2010 I hate to make a "me too" review, but I loved the sound and the fit of these until they fell apart. I used them a few times a week at my desk and didn't roll them or move around them (actually plugged into my computer and not a portable player) and they fell apart after a couple of months.
Delicate but great sound for the price Sep 02, 2010 I started using these earbuds because they are the most comfortable for me. They come with three different size silicon earcovers for a better fit in the ear canal. I love the sound quality and the affordability. For the cost, the stereo quality of these earbuds and clarity is exceptionally good. I also love the volume feature that allows me to adjust the volume without having to touch my MP3 player. The cons are that they are extremely delicate. A harsh tug, wrapping them up the wrong way, getting them caught on something, an accidental pulling or bend, will break the wire connections inside and you will lose the sound on one or both sides or experience cutting in and out. I am on my second pair because of accidentally getting them caught on something and pulling to free them. Also the rubber pieces right underneath the silicone earpiece, are very delicate and if you bend them too much they will split or break off. That will not affect the sound at all but it looks bad when these rubber pieces break off. If you don't care about how they look, this is not an issue. I believe the newer versions of these earbuds have corrected that problem with a shorter rubber piece that has bendable sections. I would recommend these earbuds for anyone that prefers earbud size options and wants a nice stereo sound and a volume control right at your fingertips but remember they are delicate so take good care of them. I gave this 4 stars with 2 for construction quality.
Just not that great Aug 30, 2010 When reading reviews I loved that they sent 3 different cushions so you could get the right fit you were looking for. Within about 2 minutes of having the box opened the ear bud snapped off when I tried to pull the mid-sized cushion off. It wasn't anything electrical, just basically the part of the bud that inserts into your ear. The way they're assembled used glue to hold this part to the main body of the ear bud so I just re-glued it back together.
Aside from the obviously poor construction the ear buds just don't sound that great. The cushions create a weird feeling in your ears (similar to when you're on an airplane) that causes the sound to be distant and faint. It's just an uncomfortable feeling to always feel like you're waiting for your ears to "pop" while also trying to listen to music. Also, the in-line volume adjustment is basically worthless. It doesn't reflect/change the volume of your player, it just fine tunes the level it's currently set at. I have to put my iPhone right at 75% volume to use these. Anything lower is impossible to hear and if the volume on the player is 100% you'll blow your eardrums out. If the inline volume is all the way down music will still be audible and there is no "mute" ability.
Finally, I should have known better but figured it was worth a shot for $20 but these DO NOT meet my standards for "works with iPhone" at all. The aforementioned mute function is missing which is something really nice about the standard iPhone headphones. I figured but I didn't see any reviews saying on way or another but there is no audio-in on the headphones so they can't be used to talk on the phone. This is why I say they don't work with iPhone. They are basically just below-average and overpriced iPod headphones that are less comfortable than your standard earbuds.
good sound quality and thats it. Warranty is useless Aug 24, 2010 i've owned a pair of skullcandy's for about 4 years now. I use to sell them to people, until now i realize skull candy is VERY cheap and a ripoff.
I've had 4 different headphones from them and I cant count how many times i've had to send it in because one of the ear buds dont work anymore. Yea, the lifetime warranty is nice but not when you need to send them in every other month. Ontop of that my $60 pair of Agents got "lost" in the mailing system, and their warranty doesn't cover it! sooo that was a waste of cash.
The sound quality is nice, i'll be honest it's probably better than most. BUT it'll break next month lol My sony headphones that came with my phone are my only headphones now and they've lasted me for over a year! longer than any pair of skullcandy's i've ever owned.
Take my advise, DO NOT GET SKULLCANDY HEADPHONES. They never last and they never fit in your ear right (yes even the over-the-ear pairs too)
if i would have known they were this cheap, i wouldn't try to sell them again. Better get a good pair of Sony's at Best Buy or something...
I know quiet a bit about this company because its actually local to where i live haha
Great Earbuds Aug 21, 2010 These earbuds are great for the price and quality. They sound really good, fit in my ears well, and look really cool. There's an in-line volume control on the black ones (that i got) and it works well. There's not much bass but if you really want bass, get the Skullcandy subwoofer headphones, THOSE babies are really nice. Overall a great buy and i give it 4 stars
