An enourmous headache Feb 20, 2010
I got this product as a Christmas gift a few years ago.
Initially, it worked great! It's design and size are wonderful. Aesthetically speaking, it's great.
I never mistreated it; it sat snugly on my desk and was never thrown around or tinkered with.

It wasn't until a few months after receiving it did the problems arise. This iHome "unplugs itself". It will turn off, on it's own. The first few times, it was just a minor inconvenience; it'd take me a few moments to reset the clock, and I'd go on with my day. After the fiftieth or so time, I started getting fed up, and never bothered with setting the clock at all. Now, I have to bother with the dang thing for 10+ MINUTES before it will decide to work on me. Even then, after a few moments of listening to my iPod on it, it would go kaput again.
I'm sick and tired to dealing with this overpriced piece of crap. If it weren't a Christmas gift, I would have returned it.

Don't waste your money on this product. You will want to chuck it across the room.

Does not come with 4G insert! Dec 11, 2009
My daughter initially liked the looks of this before trying to set it up. We are very disappointed that it does not come with the 4G insert. The description says that it works with the 4G, but now we find out it doesn't unless we buy a separate insert. We are deciding whether to return it or not.

I bought this for my pre-teen daughter. She flipped over it. I can't beLieve the sound this little thing puts out. And the mini juke-box appearance is irresistable. Definitely a great choice for this age. Added bonus that the controls appear to be high quality.

Item is okay but either I missed or it wasn't presented that you needed to buy an insert for some IPods. I gave this as a gift and would have ordered the insert if it had been presented in a manner that I would have caught. Now the receiver of my gift has to make that effort.

great sound and great way to wake up in the morning Mar 05, 2009
This was a great new alarm clock for me. I can listen to my ipod in good quality and it has a nice feature where it starts soft and works it's way up to the volume you set it at. This has eliminated the startled awake mornings for me and I have been much happier because of it. the lights are too bright to leave on while you're sleeping (unless you like a night light) but they can be shut off and you can turn them back on if you need to walk around but don't want full room lights. Easy to use, easy to set up. I would recommend this to everyone.
